Astrologers everywhere, beginners to pros, study diligently, long and hard to gain even a rudimentary knowledge of astrology. It is so very heady to achieve that initial awareness that you have a tool that will help you decipher even a tiny slice of life. It is exciting to tell people about themselves or to look at an event and see the cause, the purpose and the resolution (hopefully). Sometimes those whom we read get excited and profusely admire our abilities. That provides us with an excellent lesson on ego trapping if we buy into such accolades.

As we progress in our studies, we start to realize how little we know and are humbled by the mountain of information ahead of us. Some astrologers study only what they need to know to achieve and perform specific astrological functions. Some astrologers get bitten by the curiosity bug and just want to know more and more. The books, the articles in print or online and the workshops all provide us with the astrological tools and skills at the level we choose.

And then there are some who need to go further, to examine, to validate, to discover, to forge new paths, to add accuracy or simple validation to the body of information we call astrology. The nature of such study must change with the application and the energy pattern being studied. We must move from the simple to the more technically complex. Instead of an article for light reading and simple application, it must become a learning tool, a research project, a study of what does and does not work, validation or refutation, or a teaching article so others can learn, verify or refute. Such a study may open new doors or give us new arenas in which we can play with the stars.

Each of the astrological teaching articles on the MarilynMuir.net website does just that. The articles are not for the faint of heart because they involve more technical subjects designed to teach and explore advanced or newly presented astrological techniques. I am the astrologer/teacher guilty of presenting the more technical teaching articles. Why? This is how we grow and learn our craft.

How do you get the most out of these articles? These are not quick-read articles, they are meant to take you deep into a process so you can see the how and why and help you do the same technique with the experience you encounter. Read slowly, more than once if necessary, follow the article step by step through the process looking at the facts behind the article, the charts, the spreadsheets when applicable and the conclusions reached. If you have questions or feedback (I love feedback), use the MarilynMuir.net contact link. That way we all learn.
