Note: The following was a 2007 teaching tape and transcript about prior research I had

performed on Dark Moon Lilith right after I began my astrological studies circa 1973.

As of this 2025 editing, I have not done additional Lilith research.

Minor editing to this early article has occurred.

History                First suspected in 1720, with telescopic observations dating to 1761, the actual discovery was January 22, 1897. Dark Moon (DM) Lilith was thought to be an elusive lesser moon, noted only by her shadow crossing the Sun every six months or so. DM Lilith has a periodic orbit of 117 sidereal days and a periodic cycle of 177 synodic days. Lilith was not thought to be the only shadow satellite of the Earth, but even less was known about a second dark moon called Lulu. Delphine Jay’s book The Lilith Ephemeris has more history in the introduction if you are interested in such. There are also articles and links in the resource section at the end of this study.

Because of this illusiveness, DM Lilith was and is very controversial. Astronomers discount her and many astrologers ignore or have no knowledge of her. Sepharial was the first astrologer to study and create delineations of DM Lilith. In my early, personal studies in the mid-1970s, with no one to keep me on the straight and narrow, I encountered Ivy Goldstein-Jacobson’s book Dark Moon Lilith in Astrology, studied it diligently, and included DM Lilith in every chart I erected for several years: natal, progressed, directed, transit, you name it.  IG-J was a student of Sepharial, who was at one time a member of Madam Blavatsky’s inner group of Theosophical initiates. Eventually, I learned that DM Lilith was not popular with astrologers. Too late! I had done lots of research, watched her work, and validated her influence. She had become a part of my regular early reading practice. I found her most valuable when examining crises (such as SIDS, sudden infant death syndrome, within the very early stage of a baby’s life) and soul-related or Karmic Astrology.

To add to the controversy, when generating this article about DM Lilith in 2007, there was lots material available for all three Liliths. So much that it could get confusing. I prefer the study to be individualized.  One is an asteroid simply called Lilith. One is called Black Moon Lilith and seems to be based on a mathematical calculation relative to the second foci of the Moon’s orbit, located at approximately the Moon’s LaGrange Point, at which other planets have asteroids. In this report, we will deal with Dark Moon Lilith only, which is my personal level of charting experience. You should study the other two bodies independently, as much more material is now available. Be sure which Lilith is the basis of each source.

Mesopotamian Hebrew Mythology                  DM Lilith is thought to stem from the word Delilah, who was purportedly Adam’s first wife, a non-physical creature, barren for the purposes of physical union and progeny, who fled the Garden of Eden in apparent disgrace. As a rejected, abandoned, failed wife, she is bitter, especially with her successor, Eve, and Eve’s offspring. Another reference to Hebrew mythology suggests Lilith as a “Queen demon, bent on killing helpless infants” and others. Her totem was the owl, a nocturnal hunter. Lilith means night, and she has rulership over demons and the lower world. Supposedly she has no conscience, can be an expensive playmate, and is considered to be the handmaiden of Satan. Also, Frater RIKB’s article on Black Moon Lilith gave a broader mythological history. For more original information, go to Wikipedia or another religious encyclopedic resource.

Ancient astrology used the seven visible planets. Modern astrology added three more: Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. From my personal research and experience, DM Lilith is equally active with all ten bodies.

The original material I encountered was extremely negative. Later writers such as May Wilson-Ludlam suggested that nothing is solely negative and provided more positive insights for her activations. In my personal experience, I found her to be quite difficult and deadly. The only positive I encountered was that sometimes she was not as bad as at other times (hardly a positive). I am willing to concede that the outcome of the lesson encountered may be valuable in and of itself, but I still find DM Lilith’s lessons to be quite distressing.

DM Lilith’s gylph is a small circle of spirit interrupted by a diagonal slash (Ø). According to Wilson, the circle is symbolic of the completeness in life which we seek. The diagonal line interrupts that flow. Ø, therefore, interrupts the rhythm of cosmic harmony. How? By attacking the goals of the planet ruling the sign she occupies [interruption slashing through completeness]. She especially tries to destroy the fertilization of the Moon by the Sun (rejected first wife).  Lilith is a “choice threatener”, a break in the two sides of life: the material and the spiritual, a tug of war between the priorities of the sign (spirit) and the preferences of the house (matter). Where Ø is, you can make mistakes and poor choices. It is still your experience. You are still responsible. For healing, you must right the wrongs you create. Ø can be an unwelcome third party, uninvited like a weed in the garden. My friend, Dutch Whelchel, said, “It is difficult to remember your objective is to drain the swamp when you’re up to your (rear end) in alligators.” To me, this is a perfect metaphor for Ø’s actions.

As such, her natal position represents denial and frustration in the matters of the house she occupies and in the manner of the sign ruler, usually due to exaggeration of values of that sign or house. (The house is the physical arena, with the sign showing attitude or intent.) Ø is where you are easily intimidated or lax; where you will settle for second best, second position; or may be represented by proxy position. You will take the easy way out or rationalize your position or purpose. You may have to backtrack to correct that position or purpose.

According to Delphine Jay, “Lilith is a Lorelei”, a weaver of dreams. She “appeals to the lower self, appears when the native is vulnerable, waiting in ambush for the weak or the unwary.” This is where you have charisma to spare – a scream for attention, honey-coated and intriguing. When angular or prominent, she is flirtatious; others find the native fascinating (the seducer). When intercepted or weak, others find the native not as fascinating, more sedate and demure (the seduced).

Richard Knoll in part 3 of Unmasking the Mystery Planets refers to Ø as the Vampire Moon with a “reputation of menacing as well as eerie, lending an air of macabre wonder”. He indicates that the “dark” reference is caused by Ø’s size (small) and low albedo (light reflection).

Motion                Lilith’s daily motion is always direct, never retrograde, and is calculated at 3 degrees 2 minutes per day. (Note: An elliptical orbit can produce anomalies in daily motion). The Goldstein book Dark Moon Lilith in Astrology has an ephemeris for the first day of each month from January, 1860 to December, 1999. Simply multiply the number of days to the nearest first of the month by three degrees 2 minutes per day to determine Lilith’s position on any given day. (Be careful when plus or minus the correction.) Transits or progressed positions are produced by the same method. Example:

Sept 6, 1933 position needed (date of birth)

Sept 1, 1933 given    10 Aquarius 43                                (3d˚x 5 days = 15˚

5 days diff               + 15°                  10’                         2d’ x 5 days = 10’)

Ø Lilith 9/6/1933     = 25 Aquarius 53

The Lilith Ephemeris 1900 – 2000 AD by Delphine Jay was available from the AFA. This would be the ephemeris of choice. It is computer generated and should be more accurate. A new version 1800 to 2050 had been calculated by Astrologer Michael Mukasey for the reprint of Delphine’s book, but it was not publicly available when I originally wrote this article. Mike’s computerized Ø ephemeris program also has a “separately formatted output which has Ø’s positions daily along with the daily travel, Ø Declination and Ø Antiscia for that day”. Mike used that program material to generate his ephemeris format. As I complete this latest update, Mike has very kindly just offered his full updated ephemeris (to 2100) to be placed in the research listings on my website for reader’s use.  The link is with the resource info towards the end of this study.

Most of the older dates of birth you will need will be found in the Jacobson or Jay books, noon-based ephemerides. Mike’s new ephemerides are midnight-based. You could obtain slightly different answers depending on which ephemeris you are using. When switching ephemerides, note the difference. Personally, I would think the computer calculated figures should be the most accurate. The calculated Lilith figures can always be further interpolated by time of birth. If it helps to bridge any differences, see the figure as “ballpark”, as it is not double interpolated.

Rulership: Dignity, Detriment, Exaltation, Fall          Because Ø opposes all that the Moon (Eve) stands for, Ø is considered to have Dignity in Capricorn (Saturn’s handmaiden). Detriment would therefore be in Cancer, the Moon’s Dignity. Ø is considered Exalted in Gemini, giving her Fall in Sagittarius. (I personally don’t know the rationale, and used these positions only as strong / weak or bad / worse.)

Realize that many of these Ø words belong with other planets as well. Following are the quite negative keywords which multiple authors described as Ø in action. Ø rules temptation, seduction, sensuousness, illicit allure, abnormal need, betrayal that dishonors, debasing, ungodly evil, abnormality, delusion, fatal fascination, infatuation, compulsion, fabrication, demoralizing, wrong choices, denial, frustration, confusion, the sinister, malevolence, chaos, destruction, deliberate, crimes, tragedy, major natural catastrophe, betrayal of mass movement, death, and susceptibility through strange influences. She spoils, wrecks, or mars; when backed into a corner, she will take her own life, suicide.

Medically, Ø rules poisoning, illness contrary to nature and that which is hard to diagnose until too late to help, abnormal physical or emotional development; sign and house indicate weak area of body, vulnerability on physical level; abortion, still birth, death in childbirth, crib death, children up to the eighth day of life ( I saw this concept work in my early SIDS charts); sexual neurosis such as impotency, etc. Other notes indicate that Ø is the siren’s call, femme fatale, led astray, fleeting pressures, the other woman.

DM Lilith Ø Through the Signs

Ø Through the Signs                 Ø functions through the sign’s negative keywords and exaggerates the negative expression of that sign and its ruler. Here is a brief sign reading for each zodiac sign. Know that this is to whet your appetite – there is far more. A conjunction to the ruler of any sign will operate similarly to Ø in that sign; i.e.: ø in Sagittarius or conjunct Jupiter (watch for the chart ruler).

Aries: I am       Ø Wants to be a leader, needs to show world, hungers for self-satisfaction, no patience for conventional methods. Ø exaggerates, impulsiveness, daredevil action, temper, enthusiasm that runs away with you. You can experience bad timing because you are vulnerable to your own initiative.

Taurus: I have                 Ø Temptations come in your underlying values, what you have and how you hold on to it. Physical passions and materialism can get you into trouble. You get what you want but can’t hold it, or don’t want it after you get it.  Choose wisely.

Gemini: I think               Ø Problems with communication (speech impediment?), errors in writing or speaking. Great ideas but may not be able to put into words. Decisions get sidetracked. Mobility may be curtailed, or movements can be restricted.

Cancer: I Feel                Ø is the enemy of the Moon (abandoned first wife), tries to interfere with fertility and reproduction through deformation or termination. As always, a continual struggle with emotions, too many demands or difficulty with emotional expression.

Leo: I Create                   Ø gives the usual delusions of grandeur, watch playing the big shot. You can violate your own heart’s desire or sabotage your own creative projection. Pride and loyalty come into play here, watch a tendency towards lavishness, flattery and misplaced loyalty.

Virgo: I Serve                   Ø serves criticism as usual, possible nagging. Can get caught in a methodical existence. Detail oriented, you can give criticism, but you can’t take it. You may over-react to criticism, be self-condemning, clumsy. Not always tactful, highly opinionated, possibly an intellectual snob.

Libra: I Relate                 Ø focus is on relating and relationships, needs may be exaggerated. Search for beauty and beautiful things can be a trap. Not all that glitters is gold. Need to be fair, to know all sides of an issue, can make you nosy. Seeking ultimate fairness can be a big disappointment in this experience.

Scorpio: I Desire          Ø the dictator, obsessive, compulsive, controlling. Learn to share, but not impose. Can have abnormal jealousy or envy. Watch your resentments and don’t demand the impossible from others. Don’t confuse love with lust – both are healthy but are quite different.

Sagittarius: I Seek        Ø You may talk too much, be too blunt, put your foot in your mouth continually. Your need for freedom is your weak spot. You may chase rainbows or be thwarted in the exercise. You love the chase and to flirt with the unattainable. (My Ø)

Capricorn: I Use           Ø can be a strict disciplinarian, condoning no faults. You prefer public service or politics and have a leadership complex. You need to feel adequate, knowledgeable, responsible. You can learn from your errors and shortcomings, or you can trap yourself thinking you are an ultimate authority.

Aquarius: I Know          Ø Known for being the Don Quixote of the Zodiac, a champion of lost causes, you can have good ideas that just don’t work out. You can confuse friendship with love – watch your choice of friends.

Pisces: I Believe           Ø You must learn to separate the genuine from the imitation and can view life through a veil of illusion. Fear may drive and inhibit you or reality may disappoint you. Learn to let life flow.

DM Lilith Through the Houses

DM Lilith Ø through the houses exaggerates the needs of the house (physical needs) and competes with the needs of the sign (spiritual needs). You experience delay, denial or frustration by the experience of the house Ø occupies. The people of the house of Ø placement tend to withdraw from you. Here is a brief reading for each zodiac sign. Know that this is to tickle your appetite – there is far more.

Angular, Succedent, Cadent houses

Ø angular goes after the native physically and / or personally (i.e.: in the 1st in a very small-sized person’s chart.

Ø succedent goes after the native’s possessions, value systems, money.

Ø cadent goes after the native psychologically (accept second best, self-undoing, etc.)

In the 1st             Ø can give physical difficulties, deformities or accidents. You can also have a deep-rooted inferiority complex which may surface as superiority (masked) or actual inferiority.

In the 2nd            Ø can give financial / material / value difficulties. You may be driven by the need to feel secure. Your values may be misplaced.

In the 3rd            Ø can have problems with siblings, be separated, not feel like you belong. Same thing with your immediate environment or neighborhood. Communications or education can also be a problem.

In the 4th            Ø can make the early home life quite painful, insecure, abandoned, or unwanted. Problems can occur with the father. Your family may keep family issues hidden.

In the 5th            Ø can cause problems with children, such as early loss, denial, abnormalities. Creative efforts may fizzle, as can your love life (non-contractual relationships).

In the 6th            Ø can bring health problems (suggest more than one opinion to avoid misdiagnosis). Health problems can include pets, bites, stings, poisoning. On the job employment issues or coworkers can be a problem. Don’t be a self-appointed martyr; no one is indispensable.

In the 7th            Ø indicates marital or partnership problems. Obtaining a partner may be easy. Staying that way may not be as easy. Multiple partnerships or external lovers can complicate your life.

In the 8th            Ø value / money systems that involve others are the subject, fights over legacies, problems with taxes or insurance. Involvement with death or death processes.

In the 9th            Ø problems can come from long distances or trips, foreign involvements, religion or philosophy, legalities, publishing or higher education… or your in-laws.

In the 10th         Ø career, profession, reputation are the subjects. Recognition may be denied or be notorious. Your career may be second choice, or you may encounter jealousy or envy in your career.

In the 11th         Ø with friends like these, you may not need enemies. Choose wisely because friends can deceive or use you, get you in trouble or leave you holding the bag. Hopes, wishes and dreams are questionable.

In the 12th         Ø enjoys the traps we create for ourselves. This is where and how we sabotage ourselves. Your secret affairs may not remain secret. Institutions may be a problem, medical or otherwise.

DM Lilith Ø Aspects

The notes above indicate Ø’s attack on the goals of the planet ruling the sign Ø occupies. The four major categories of Astrology are planets, signs, houses and aspects. There was reasonable Ø material available for signs, houses and aspects, but less Ø material available on the planets themselves. Since I personally own a Venus / Ø conjunction and my daughter owns a Ø / Pluto conjunction, we can personally see the influence of the conjunction. Using the conjunction as an example, focus on the basic quality of the planet while conjunct Ø and know that any conjunction is equally as important as the planet ruling the sign Ø occupies, particularly if that planet is the chart ruler.

When in aspect to a malefic or conjunct a malefic Fixed Star (FS), injury to the native is a life-long affliction or threat. Denial is also possible. No matter how good an aspect is to Ø, expect less. Ø is tiny in size, so use a relatively tight orb for natal aspects. Watch the five major aspects and allow the quincunx as a possibility (even tighter orb). Use standard rules (with much tighter orbs) for other types of applications such as progressions, directions, transits, etc.

Conjunction   Ø sidetracks the planet’s promise, temps you to act emotionally, producing frustration and a continuing series of experiences in which you might “settle”. I have first-hand knowledge with this aspect that the planetary involvement is critical. Natally, my Ø conjuncts my Venus within 1˚. All aspects to my Venus (and thereby Ø) are positive, but I can’t say my Venus experience has been particularly positive. Instead, my Venus has been very Ø -oriented.

Sextile                 Opportunities which attract denial and temptations.  You can participate in your own downfall.

Square                Rash action involves direct loss. Requires wisdom, the wise choice.

Trine     Allows you to learn by error, may give you a second (or more) chance, may provide too many chances, too many options, too much opportunity for error. Trines foster the easy way out.

Opposition      Awareness… first attraction, then withdrawal or resistance, and loss.

Mutual Reception       (spurious, not proven) could offer a way out of the problem or double the trouble.

Interception    As always, indicates a delaying factor, not denial, the influence may be postponed only.

Solstice Points (Antiscia)       indicates a turning point relative to the nature or matters of a planet, so Ø’s Solstice Point might suggest a bettering of conditions… if the native has learned to make right choices and doesn’t make the same mistake over and over again. I have not personally used this tool.

Various authors suggested to watch for associations (not specifically proven).

  • Aspects to Venus, Uranus, Neptune in female charts.
  • Aspects to Mercury, Neptune for sexual neurosis or nymphomania (also Sun, Moon?)
  • Aspects to. Venus, Uranus for sexuality.
  • Difficult relationships: aspects to Pluto, Uranus or in Scorpio.
  • Death or accident: aspect to hyleg.
  • Murderers or saints (choice): aspects to lights.
  • Conjunct Ascendant or Ascendant ruler (cannot be trusted): vicious, liar, untrustworthy, possible criminal.

Transit, Direction. Progression of Ø

When contact is made to a natal house or cusp, the affairs of that house can be activated, upset, more often emotionally with Ø. Conversely, a transit direction or progression of a planet or angle to natal Ø will activate the natal promise of Ø. Transits, directions or progressions are the activators and the natal is that which is activated.

To progress Ø, simply add 3˚2’ per day to the natal position for each year in question.

Example: for 10th year, use birth position + 30˚20’.

To direct, use arc chosen for that year (Radix, Symbolic or Solar) and add to natal position – approximately 1˚ per year. To create a quick list of Lilith contacts, create a yearly list of Lilith position for each year of llfe, i.e.:

Natal: 4 Sag 15: Prog                 Natal: 4 Sag 15: Sym Dir (1˚ per year)

1st birthday 7 Sag 17                  1st birthday 5 Sag 15

2nd birthday 10 Sag 19              2nd birthday 6 Sag 15

3rd birthday 13 Sag 21               3rd birthday 7 Sag 15

4th birthday 16 Sag 23, etc.    4th birthday 8 Sag 15, etc.

This was one of the ways I initially studied Ø. Note any moving Lilith hits (activator) to natal placements (receiving the trigger) for an activating Ø effect. Note also any planetary hits (activating) to natal Ø (receiving the trigger). Since Ø seems to affect our choices leading up to negative experiences, she will probably show up strongly just before those choices are made for good or ill (depending on whether the lesson has been learned). Remember the universe has all the time it needs to teach us whatever it wishes us to learn. Would you rather learn or repeat the lesson?

Some keyword statements:

Aries Ø               overwhelmed with romantic notions. Avoid romantic expressions except to life-mate because acute embarrassment may follow. Avoid rash, impulsive or daredevil actions as disgrace may follow.

Taurus Ø            avoid blatant materialism, sensuousness, gluttony, greed. Can be selfish or intolerant, stubborn or unreasonable, the effects can be chronic in nature. The bull runs amok.

Gemini Ø          restlessness, chasing rainbows, grass is greener elsewhere. Stirs up the desire for variety in experience through the gleam that beckons.

Cancer Ø          lack of emotional discretion. Emotional insecurity triggered, loss of loved ones along the way, a feeling of emotional helplessness or hopelessness.

Leo Ø                   boisterous behavior, arrogance, haughtiness, scorn, boasting, self-aggrandizement, flamboyant dress and scandalous actions, outlandish speech. Can be the self-appointed king.

Virgo Ø               can alienate by criticism, nagging, lack of affection. Confuses service with servant. May be heedless of sensitivity to others.

Libra Ø                fairness, equity, justice become hard to define. Don’t avoid social or family duties. Fence sitting can be deadly.

Scorpio Ø         slightest upset brings fury, then potential use of unscrupulous desires and methods. Selfish ambition can leave a trail of misery, bitterness, and hatred. Success achieved, vanishes. Whatever happens is total, for good or for ill.

Sagittarius Ø     never ending search. A sad quest filled with boundless energy and self-confidence. Driven and tormented to reach goals that are beyond reach, such as total knowledge, religious mysteries, self-realization. Such chase could leave you destitute in mind / body / soul.

Capricorn Ø    overbearing pride, delusions of grandeur, sense of superiority. Patronizing towards all, must know and be the expert. Elitist, perhaps full of hot air. Preoccupation with your own greatness.

Aquarius Ø      ideas of liberty and imagination tempt you to do “something for humanity.” Leads an erratic course, can lose personal relationships. Disregard for practical reality can leave you homeless, friendless, rebellious, clutching “the impossible dream”.

Pisces Ø            avoid vague callings, Lure of the Shadow, the secret and the mysterious or the forbidden draws you away from loved ones, mystical-seeming union may end in guilt or degradation. Can bring promiscuity, tears, melancholy and loneliness.

Eclipses, Ingresses, Fixed Stars

Personal Research Examples,

Karmic Charting, Sources

Eclipses             Solar (Sun / Moon conjunction, the planting of the seed) and Lunar (Sun / Moon opposition, fruition of the seed). Two approaches; expect difficulty in experience.

Those eclipses which trigger natal Ø can activate her natal promise by sign and house. Eclipses involving transiting Ø can appear negative when they activate the promise of a natal planet or house.

Ingresses          Ø can also be used in horary, election and mundane charts, but there was very little available material to study, a few notes here and there. I personally have done little with this concept. One of my collected notes (source unknown) is for Ø on a Sun ingress chart.

“Ingress means to enter. Four charts per year as the Sun enters the four cardinal signs which represent the four directions of occult literature. A World Ingress chart would be set for the 0˚time meridian at Greenwich, England. Individual locations would be set for the longitude / latitude for the location chosen (usually the capital of any state or country), with the Sun at 0˚0’ of the cardinal signs. Each chart represents three months of time, with the Aries ingress designated as the yearly ingress chart. Locational Aries ingress charts figure strongly in hurricane research. The ingress charts indicate the current trends for nations, cities and the people who inhabit them. Insert Lilith’s natal and Solstice Point into the ingress chart. If either contact the 10th house cusp or its ruler, the locality or its governing head receive special attention. Always confirm with other supporting aspects.”

Fixed Stars / Malefic Degree                 First a general explanation. Fixed Stars can have great impact on our charts and our lives for good or for ill – they are quite powerful. I would start with conjunctions, oppositions or squares with relatively tight orbs (1 to 2˚). Just remember other aspects can also activate. Because of the negative nature of this subject, I am listing only the major malefic FS’s. The Malefic Degree included is 19 Scorpio.

Caput Algol 25:57 Tau              Alcyone 29:42 Tau          Aldebaran 9:26 Gemini

Betelgeuse 28:23 Gem            Vindemiatrix 9:32 Lib      Serpentis 19 Sco

Malefic Ø joining a malefic FS or degree can be a double whammy!

Karmic Charting           From my book Karmic Astrology, Chapter 3, Progressed Karmic Chart. Ø’s position was speculative at best. Once you get the natal, use 3˚2’ per year (day for a year) as a reasonable progressed position. In the natal karmic chart, I discussed the placement of Ø. From my research notes on my own chart, a few progressed to natal aspects.

  • Prog Ø oppose N Saturn: Mother died
  • Prog Ø square N Uranus: miscarriage
  • Prog Ø conjunct N MC: cancer scare (was not cancer)
  • Prog Ø opposed N Sun: chose solitary path, ended entangling relationships

Personal research examples:

  • During a transiting Uranus opposition natal Ø, native aware of seven different abortions.
  • Death of a father: progressed Ø conjunct progressed MC.
  • Death of a mother: transiting Ø opposed natal Uranus, square natal Moon.
  • Operation: transiting Ø conjunct progressed Moon.
  • Ø involved in the Jim Jones / Guyana massacre.
  • Ø involved in death of an earthquake victim who had returned home to S America for a visit.
  • Mexican air crash 8/31/1986, Ø 16 Gem conjunct 8th cusp, opposed Uranus 18 Sag, square Jupiter 19 Pis.
  • Challenger Ø 28 Leo conjunct Regulus, square Mar 27 Sco, opposed Jupiter 24 Aqu.
  • Chernobyl nuclear explosion Ø 25 Tau conjunct Algol, conjunct Venus 29 Tau opposed Moon 24 Sco.
  • Wright Brothers Flight Ø 5 Aqu conjunct Mars 4 Aqu squ Ven 19 Sco.
  • US bombs Libya Ø 22 Ari conj Sun 25 Ari, squ Asc 18 Cap with aspects to U.S. chart, Gulf War chart, and Libya chart.

Outside examples from other writers:

  • Two co-workers presenting conflicting views to employer, one leading employer astray continually. That employee’s Lilith was exactly conjunct the employer’s Sun, the only connection found between the charts.
  • Nolle notes that T.E. Piercy studied 100+ birth charts and found Lilith prominent at the moment of death in every case, Nolle also notes several other examples of Lilith prominent.

Here is an infamous person’s chart for you to practice on, natal, progression, direction and transit:

Theodore Robert Cowell (Ted) Bundy

Nov 14,1946  10:25 PM EST

Burlington, VT 44 N 28.5         73 W 12.4

Karmic Asc 10 Sag      Ø @24 Leo 16 conj Asc

(noon Ephemeris position)

Bundy claimed overwhelming violent urges began in 1964. He also claimed murders began in 1966, which was discounted by authorities. A young victim’s mother is certain he killed as a teenager. However, aspects in the karmic charts lead me to believe they began in 1966 or 1967.

  • 1/4/1974 thought to be first murder, beginning of series.
  • Additional murders attributed to Bundy (some uncertain):

1/31/74, 3/12/74, 4/17/74, 5/6/74, 6/1/74, 6/11/74, 7/14/74 (2),

8/12/74, 10/2/74, 10/1874, 10/31/74, 11/8/74 (2), 1/12/75,

3/15/75, 4/6/75, (incarcerated part of 75-78), 1/15/78 (5), 2/9/78.

  • Prog Ø 16 Sco 41 conj natal IC on 1/4/74, moving to 29 Sco by 2/78.
  • Prog Ø also squ natal Mercury, conj natal Venus and natal Mercury, squ natal Ø and natal Asc during this four-year crime spree.
  • Prog Karmic Asc was 23 Gemini 1/4/74, moving to 1 Can 7 before flipping to Cap on the Solunar Return, then progressing to 19 Cap 30 by 2/78 during this four-year crime spree. (Yes, Karmic Ascendants can flip!)

Incarcerations

  • 8/16/1975 arrested and suspected, released
  • 10/1/1975 arrested for kidnapping
  • 3/1/1976 convicted for kidnapping
  • 6/7/1977 escaped
  • 6/13/77 recaptured

Source of information: Astrologer T. Pat Davis, helio research, much more info provided.

Please note that the older noon-based Ø systems were what was available when publishing the earlier material. Mike’s midnight-based computer-generated ephemeris is now on my website. I consider it most accurate. Note that I did not change the original position on the Bundy chart as the discrepancy is tiny and does not change the reading. Instructions for calculating and reading the Karmic chart are provided in my Karmic Astrology book. A 10-year Ø ephemeris was used to extend that particular information. The reader should now use the new Munkasey Ephemeris provided.
